James is a graduate (Bachelor of Arts Performance) of Theatre Nepean, the University of Western Sydney's, School of Visual and Performing Arts.

He began his acting career in Sydney, at The Ensemble Theatre, studying with Hayes Gordon and continued to study various screen acting and voice techniques with;

- Screenwise, with Denise Roberts, Peter Andrikidis and Trish McAskill.

- In July 2010 James was cast as Trevor Jones in the horror/thriller feature film, 'The Tunnel', directed by Carlo Ledesma. Executive producers, Enzo Tedeschi, Julian Harvey, Peter Thompson, Andrew Denton. Starring Bel Delia, Andy Roderada, Steve Davis, Luke Arnold, Ben Maclaine and Goran Kleut. In production.

Dubbo born actor takes to tunnel in new thriller.

Cast announced for Australian thriller, 'The Tunnel'.

 

- In March 2010 he shot a scene from the feature film script, 'Jack To Nowhere', written and directed by Anthony Egan ('NEEDLE') - View it here.

- In December 2009, James played the role of the Father, in the dramatic short film, 'The Branch' , alongside Alicia Debnam-Carey and Lachlan Campbell. Written and directed by Julietta Boscolo. DOP, Kier Suggett. Producer, Eva Stolcs. In post production.

- In October 2009, he completed a role in the short film, 'Moving Day' , with Amber Gokken and the delightful young actress, Darcy Griffith. Directed by Jason Wingrove. The editor is Richard Learoyd ('Knowing', 'I, Robot') and the DOP is Tom Gleeson ('Ned', 'Puppy') In post production.

- He recently added his voice, as a post-WW2 American politician, to the feature film teaser,'Man Conquers Space', written and directed by David Sander. Screened September 22, 2009 at the Chauvel Cinema, Paddington, NSW Australia. Release date, July-August 2010.
